3. Keep the portion sizes low
If you really want to buy chocolate or sweets, think high-quality, small-portions. Choose snack-sized options and share them with the people you love. Chop up some of your favourite fruit and dip it in a little bit of chocolate so that the majority of your indulgence is from a high-fibre natural source. Share your meal and/or dessert with your loved one.
4. Get active
What’s more romantic than a walk around the park, a hike in the mountains, or a day at the beach? Perhaps plan an adrenaline activity together!
5. Plan a night in
Why not cook your own romantic dinner for two? Cooking at home allows for meals that are lower in salt, higher in fibre and have more nutrient-dense vegetables.
6. Eat breakfast
Start the day with a breakfast rich in fibre, lean protein and healthy fats. You’ll be less likely to overindulge in the evening. An omelette with some salmon, greens, sliced avocado and diced tomato is a perfect choice.
Now, all you need to do is put it into action – starting now! Nothing changes until you decide to ‘make the shift’!
