Cryolipolysis and Fat Freezing Treatments

What is Cryolipolysis?

Cryolipolysis (also commonly known as fat freezing) is a breakthrough, non-invasive procedure that uses a controlled cooling technology to permanently kill fat cells without surgery.

How does Cryolipolysis work?

A targeted controlled cooling process using a special vacuumed applicator is placed onto an area of fat on the body and lowers the treatment area to -9C. Clinical studies show fat cells cannot survive at this temperature and so it effectively kills the fat cells underneath the skin, literally freezing the fat to the point of elimination. The benefit of this technology is that no other cells are affected; only the fat cells are frozen. The process sees the fat cells crystallize and die, and then naturally eliminate from your body. During the next few months, as those fat cells are naturally eliminated, your new body shape appears.

Cryolipolysis FAQs

Where does the fat go and is it permanent?

Once crystallized the fat cells slowly break down and are transported through the lymphatic system to the liver where they processed out of the body as waste. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they are gone for good. As long as you maintain your weight with your normal diet and exercise, your long-term results should remain stable.

What areas can you target with Cryolipolysis Treatments?

Cryolipolysis provides us with the ability to freeze fat in specific areas, including the following:

  • Stomach
  • Flanks
  • Waist
  • Hips
  • Love Handles
  • Chin
  • Outer and Inner Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Upper Arms
  • Bra Line
  • Banana Rolls

Is Cryolipolysis for me?

Cryolipolysis is most effective in people who have stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. It does not appear to be effective in people who have large amounts of fat to lose, such as obese patients.

How long is each session?

Depending on which area is treated the sessions can last from 40-60mins.

When will I start to see results?

Results start to show as quickly as 4 weeks. But your body will still flush out fat cells and continues doing so for up six months after treatment. The best results are seen at the 6-8 week mark.

What does it feel like?

As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you will feel pressure and intense cold. This soon dissipates as the area becomes numb. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment.

What are the side effects?

During the procedure, you may experience deep pulling and coldness in the treated area. However, after 5-7 minutes the area becomes numb. Following the procedure, typical side effects may include one or more of the following: temporary numbness, redness, slight swelling, mild bruising, mild firmness, tingling and/or mild pain.

Can I return to normal activities after the procedure?

Yes, you can. The cryolipolysis procedure is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately.

As surgery can lead to months of discomfort and disruption to life, Cryolipolysis is rapidly becoming a popular alternative to traditional liposuction. The breakthrough treatment, commonly known as coolsculpting, works quickly and is completely safe.

How can I be assured its safe?

Cryolipolysis is an extremely safe method of fat freezing. Our technology is TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) approved.

Being part of the Department of Health, the TGA safeguards and enhances the health of the Australian community through effective and timely regulation of therapeutic goods.

Once a product / technology has been tested and approved, it continues to be regulated through post-market monitoring and enforcement of standards.
