What is this simple trick that takes a few minutes per day, costs next to nothing and helps your body inside and out…? Dry body brushing.
Dry body brushing is part of Ayurveda’s cleansing philosophies. Ayurveda is a 5000 year old science originating in India, believed by many to be the oldest healing science.
What is body brushing?
Dry body brushing is a technique used to exfoliate and cleanse your skin, promoting a healthy and glowing appearance. It has excellent health benefits including increased circulation, cellulite reduction, smoother skin and, importantly, body brushing detoxifies the lymphatic system.
How to dry body brush?
You can dry body brush for a few minutes prior to your morning shower. Brush on Dry Skin only. This will provide the best stimulation and exfoliation. When plant bristles are wet, they go soft and clump together.
Precautions: Never brush over inflamed areas e.g. open wounds, inflamed sores, varicose veins, sunburnt skin, active cancer states, enlarged lymph nodes.
Dry body brush care:
Use a brush with natural bristles. Wash with hot soapy water once a week, pad excess water into a towel and leave to dry in the sun or in a well ventilated area. Allow brush to dry completely before using again. Do not leave in a damp area, the bristles will mildew.
Simple, easy and only takes a few minutes each time you dry body brush, but you’ll definitely notice the benefits both inside and out. Happy brushing!
